How is Home Care Paid For?

Private Pay:

Agapé @ Home works with patients and their families to provide home care services on a private pay basis. We can help you with a service plan that is affordable.  Agapé @ Home will also work with your long-term care insurance policy and help you determine if you qualify for any VA benefits.

Long-Term Care Insurance:

Many Long-Term Care Insurance (LTC) policies will cover costs for in-home care when the individual can no longer care for themselves.  Agapé @ Home has insurance specialist on staff who can help you determine if your policy will pay for home care.

While Medicare will pay for short-term rehabilitation in a post-acute care center and for short-term home health care, Medicare does not pay for any long-term care such as home care or assisted living.

Health Insurance and Medicaid:

Like Medicare, regular health insurance and Medicaid does not pay for home care.  Medicare only pays for long-term care in nursing homes and select assisted living facilities.

Veterans Aid:

The US Department of Veterans Affairs offers the VA Aid and Attendance program.  Aid and Attendance offers financial benefits for qualified veterans and surviving spouses who require assistance with daily living activities. Aid and Attendance can be used for pay for home care and other long-term care, like assisted living.  Agapé @ Home has a certified VA benefits specialist on staff who can work with clients and their families to determine eligibility of benefits and assist with the application process.
